About

Hecuba is the sophomore album of composer-performer collective Oracle Hysterical. Taking its name from the eponymous tragedy by Euripides, Hecuba is a meditation on life and death through the eyes of a woman who loses everything. Unusually for a record, Hecuba existed as an album before it became a live performance. For the first time, September 23, 2017, Oracle will recreate the electro-acoustic album in a live performance at the Toledo Museum of Art. The album drops on Naxos/Vision Into Art in 2018.

“Music often takes inspiration from classic literature, but the remarkable ensemble Oracle Hysterical make it their raison d’etre.” - Peter Margasak, Chicago Reader
